Hello Herbal Emporium and welcome to our first of the Herbal 101 series.
I am so very excited to start this journey with you and I had wished that someone else could have provided me with the information that I want to share here for less than $3000!
I am taking courses in order to be certified so I can create my own physical products to provide to you all, but we will start here.
Spring of 2023 there will be PDFs available for download at reasonable cost for subscribers and be sure to share this with your friends and family.
Your subscription to the blog will provide me the time to continue doing research in order to bring you better content as the months go on.
I want to thank you for subscribing to the blog and hope you are excited to have everything I have wanted to know, condensed into one place so you can learn, take notes, and get physical copies of these lessons (soon).
If you haven’t already, please like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to help us go farther. We post simple recipes and infographics on herbs frequently outside of writing this publication. If you’re a free subscriber, good information will be found there and I hope you find much value out of what I can provide!
I want to create lessons that are easy to read and learn so you can make small and sustainable changes into your life and grow your own ingredients, make better herb choices for tea/food based on your preferences, make your own items like soap or tinctures, and feel good about yourself and your choices with completely natural ingredients!1
This week we are starting with dandelions, a very common plant you see everywhere.
Dandelion is full of antioxidants, immune support, and supports the kidney as it’s main attractiveness for people
While you can harvest from the wild or grow them inside/outside, I would grow them myself so you know they weren’t treated with weed killer or other chemicals that could pose risks to you!
Growing indoors
A 6-9 inch pot with drainage holes are sufficient for a small indoor garden like I have
Use general potting mix and sprinkle seeds on top and lightly cover with more potting mix
Put in direct sun or under a grow light for about 12 hours a day
Don't oversaturate with water and distance seedlings about 2 inches apart
Harvest for use right before flower blooms, otherwise it might taste bitter
Store in airtight container for up to two weeks
